GALLERY: Best and worst dressed at the Globes

Aussies shone in the fashion stakes at the 2013 Golden Globe awards with Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Miranda Kerr getting their red carpet looks spot on.

Kidman, who wore a black Alexander McQueen dress with gold embellishment, says her husband Keith Urban influences her style and he gave this outfit the ''two thumbs up''.

Watts was elegant in a maroon long-sleeve Zac Posen design with a cut-out back detail and stunning drop earrings. Kerr also chose maroon in a gown with a plunging neckline, but her best accessory was her birthday-boy hubby, Orlando Bloom.

But the biggest standout of the night was Emily Blunt in a stunning gold embellished Michael Kors dress. She was flawless.

Those were on the upside.

One standout shocker was the gown worn by Sienna Miller - who usually is right on-trend. Tonight, she was completely off in an Erdem floral midriff top and long skirt. She said her outfit choice was ''definitely out there'' and she wasn't wrong. It just wasn't 'out there' in the right way.

Another mistake was made by Zooey Deschanel wearing a red Oscar De La Renta gown. The dress swamped her small frame and combined with a pearl chocker, the look was more suited to a high school prom than the Golden Globes.

Debra Messing's black Donna Karan gown was another miss with so much ruching, it could have been used for a curtain.
