Shot fired into Tomerong service station

A shot was fired into a service station during an attempted robbery at Tomerong last night.

Just after 9pm, a male attendant, 35, walked outside the Princes Highway service station to begin packing up for the night.

However, the attendant ran back inside the service station and locked the doors after he saw a man carrying a rifle.

The man then began banging on the glass doors of the service station before firing a shot that narrowing missed the attendant.

The attendant was not injured and the man carrying the rifle fled the scene.

Shoalhaven police arrived at the scene shortly after.

The offender was described as being about 170 centimetres tall, with a slim build and light brown complexion. He was wearing a light blue zip-up jacket, a cream baseball cap and had his face concealed.
