Accused had ‘feudal bloodlust’ towards Janceski: court

A Cordeaux Heights man charged over the retaliation murder of Darko Janceski has been denied bail.

Robert Nikolovski, 38, appeared in Wollongong Local Court just after noon to answer a charge of soliciting Mr Janceski's murder.

Nikolovski entered a plea of not guilty.

Police prosecutor Shannon Ryan opposed bail, citing a need to protect the community.

He told the court Nikolovski suffered an "uncontrollable feudal bloodlust" towards Mr Janceski over the suspected murder of his brother Goran.

Defence solicitor Aaron Kernaghan, representing Nikolovski, told the court the police case was based purely on suspicion, and they had no evidence Nikolovski had solicited anyone to murder Mr Janceski.

Detectives revealed for the first time this week they would allege Mr Janceski's shooting death was payback for the suspected murder of Unanderra man Goran Nikolovski.

Mr Janceski, 32, was gunned down outside his parent's Gannet Avenue home on April 14 last year, five months after Mr Nikolovski's disappearance
