The atmosphere was full of nostalgia as Amanda and Justin Van der Veen held hands in the Fountaindale Grand Manor gardens one afternoon last September and exchanged their vows.
The Highlands 1920s manor was the setting for the ceremony, photographs and reception.
The wedding cake was cut with an antique sword which the bride had restored. Cutting the cake with a sword was a tradition that Amanda wished to uphold, as her mother and father had cut their own wedding cake the same way.
Mr and Mrs Van der Veen are among the couples featured in Tuesday's eight-page Illawarra Mercury Weddings of 2012 liftout.
