There are couples, families with young kids, teenagers hanging together. There are people from many nationalities. And there are people from out of town, showing that Wollongong knows how to throw an Australia Day party.
We asked 10 of the people at that party today what they thought of Wollongong’s party.
Gordana Pazarkoska, Lake Heights:
‘‘It’s been awesome! We just brought the kids out to go on the rides, have lunch here and stick around for the fireworks.’’
Dawn Northey, Berkeley:
‘‘It’s great, but a bit hot. We’ve just been walking around and the kids have been riding on the rides. It’s good to see the Australian spirit.’’

‘‘It’s been awesome. We’ve just been having a great day.’’

‘‘It’s my birthday, so it’s been good. It’s been great out here with the family.’’

‘‘It’s been really good. we’ve been having a great time. we came specifically for the bed race.’’

‘‘We came to soak up the really friendly atmosphere. We were here last year but it’s a lot better this year.’’

‘‘It’s hot but there’s never a dull moment. We brought the kids down and they’re in the water now.’’
