A decision to delay the running of the Group 3 final was made by stewards yesterday only hours before the $25,000-to-the-winner feature was due to be run.
"I think it was mainly because the back straight is shifting a little bit under foot and it would have been dangerous for the dogs," Bulli Greyhound Racing Club's Lynne Curtis said.
"The water is getting away all right, but it's a little bit gluggy."
It's the second major final in the space of a month to have been postponed in the region after greyhound racing trainers staged a no-show in December, causing the rich Dapto Puppy Classic final to be delayed by a fortnight.
South-western Sydney conditioners Mark Gatt and Mark Azzopardi both qualified two runners for the Cyril Rowe final.
Gatt has Ritza Ryder (box 6) and Lightning Impact (box 4) drawn awkwardly, while Azzopardi boasts fastest qualifier Proven Maddy (box 7) and Aston Caviar (box 5).
