A car accident near Masters Road at Mt St Thomas is causing traffic to back up on the F6.
Motorists travelling south on the F6 are facing significant delays.
One southbound lane is currently closed and southbound traffic is queued about three kilometres from the accident site.
Emergency services and traffic crews are on the scene of the accident working to clear it as quickly as possible.
Additionally there is also heavy traffic for motorists travelling north on the Princes Highway at Albion Park due to the closure of the Illawarra Highway.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and allow additional travel time.
