They are more accustomed to sweltering inside their stifling firie uniforms than baring their buff bodies.
But each year about a dozen of the state's firefighters get the opportunity to show off their impressive physiques - all for a good cause of course.
The 2013 Firefighters Calendar is lighting up the lives of ladies right across NSW, and the hunt has already begun for next year's candidates.
Calendar co-ordinator Rhett Mitchell said funds raised went to the burns unit of The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Last year the calendar raised more than $41,000, taking the total raised in the past five years over $155,000.
The money has been used for research, treatment and prevention programs, and also to buy equipment and bandages for little ones unlucky enough to suffer burns.
For those firies keen to get involved in the next calendar, there are a few prerequisites, Mr Mitchell said.
"A nice smile and a six pack will definitely go a long way," he said, quoting a female colleague.
This year's cover model is Berry's own Firefighter Brendan - we can't tell you his surname due to the threat posed by over-eager female fans.
Firies can send expressions of interest by the end of March to rhett.mitchell@hotmail.com.
A calendar fundraiser featuring some of the 2013 firie models will be held at the Nowra races on May 26.
