Girl escapes attempted abduction at Bulli

An 11-year-old girl managed to fight off a man who grabbed at her leg during a terrifying attempted abduction at Bulli yesterday.

The child was walking along Organs Road about 5pm when a black van stopped nearby.

Police were told four men got out of the van and approached the girl, with one of them grabbing at her leg.

She was able to fight off the man before running into a nearby street and hiding in bushes.

Police were later contacted and patrolled the area but were unable to locate the van or men.

Wollongong detectives are now appealing for help from the public to track the men down.

One man is described as being aged between 30 and 40, with a tanned complexion, thin build and short curly hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue denim jeans at the time of the attack.

Another man has been described as Caucasian, 30 to 40 years old with a muscular build, short blond hair and a tattoo of a skull and arrow on his left forearm.

He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket with the sleeves rolled up and blue denim jeans.

Meanwhile, the van has been described as being black with a dent in the front passenger door, dark tinted windows, silver wheels and white and black number plates.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information about the van or the identity of the four men is urged to contact Wollongong detectives or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
