Timpano, a former Wollongong Wolves, FIFA world youth championship and under-17 world championship representative, recognises the importance of playing futsal for developing certain aspects of the outdoor game.
During his time at Sydney FC, Timpano played with the former Brazilian World Cup winner, Juninho, who was a big endorser of the small-sided game.
"I was fortunate enough to play alongside Juninho at Sydney FC and he always spoke about how he and most Brazilians played futsal growing up," Timpano said. "He said it helps him in many aspects of the outdoor game.
"Most importantly, I think it's a great way for adults and kids to socialise, have fun and keep active."
Football South Coast will be running a new competition at the Illawarra Sports Stadium in Berkeley, starting on March 11.
Registration days are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm.
