Man killed in South Nowra crash

A man has been killed and three other people injured in a three vehicle crash at South Nowra last night.

About 11:30pm Thursday, a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Tarago travelling in opposite directions along the Princes Highway were involved in a collision, police say.

The Corolla and a Ford Courier then collided head-on.

Police say the driver and sole occupant of the Corolla, a 27-year-old man, died at the scene.

A 69-year-old man travelling in the Courier was trapped for an hour before being freed by emergency services. 

He was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital before being airlifted to St George Hospital.

The 36-year-old male driver and 29-year-old female passenger in the Tarago also suffered injuries and were taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for treatment.

The Princes Highway was closed while Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit officers  examined the scene. 

Investigations are continuing and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
