Sylvia Madden is the first winner in a series of cash giveaways to celebrate the Mercury's new iPhone app.
A mother of three from Mount St Thomas says she will have no trouble spending $1000 prize money from the Mercury’s iPhone app competition.
Sylvia Madden got a winning phone call as she readied two of her three children for school this morning.
‘‘I was just amazed,’’ she said.
‘‘I don’t know where [the money] is going to go yet but I’ve got lots of uses for it!’’
Mrs Madden is the first winner in a series of five giveaways to celebrate the launch of the app.
Marty and Bianca will announce one winner on the i98FM Breakfast Show daily until Friday.
Entries close at 4pm the day before each of the draws.
To download the app and enter the draw:
1. Download the FREE Mercury app by searching ’Illawarra Mercury’ in the App Store
2. Select ‘Report’ in the top right corner of the app
3. Then tap ‘Assignments’ followed by the ’Get ’Appy’ heading
4. Tap ‘Add Story’ and type ‘COMP’ in the space provided
5. Tap ‘Save’, tap ‘Continue’
6. Complete your details, tap ‘Save’ and finally tap ‘Submit’
