Illawarra rail commuters heading to Sydney this morning experienced lengthy delays due to a broken-down freight train.
RailCorp said the 56 wagon freight train, which broke down at Como this morning, was moved earlier this morning.
Trains on the South Coast Line returned to timetable about 11.30am and a regular train service is now operating in both directions between Hurstville and Sutherland.
Trains on the Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line continue to be delayed up to 20 minutes.
Passengers are advised to check indicator boards, listen to station announcements and allow additional travel time
