A man will appear at Wollongong Local Court today accused of trying to coax a 15-year-old girl into sexual activity in Berkeley yesterday.
About 2pm, the schoolgirl was with friends at a post office on Winnima Way when they were approached by a 44-year-old man.
The man led the girl away from her friends and allegedly tried to procure her for sexual activity.
The girl got scared and walked away, with the man trying to grab her as she left.
About 7.15pm police attended an address in Berkeley and arrested the 44-year-old man.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with procure child for unlawful sexual activity.
He was refused bail to appear in court today.
