About 3pm a Toyota Hilux travelling north on the Princes Highway collided with a Toyota Corolla turning right into Strickland Street.
The female passenger in the Corolla died at the scene.
Police from Sutherland Local Area Command and other emergency services attended and both male drivers were conveyed to St George Hospital.
Motorists are advised that northbound traffic on the Princes Highway is blocked and diversions are in place.
