Mr Park wants the NSW government to consider implementing a Metrobus service to assist southern suburbs' students and to ease the parking woes of Keiraville and Gwynneville residents.
With the start of semester last week, traffic and parking difficulties are again a concern on the streets surrounding the university.
"Parking congestion has been a big problem for the local residents for a number of years and there is no end in sight. Residents are fed up of their streets looking more and more like parking lots," Mr Park said. "I am urging the government to seriously look at implementing a Metrobus service, similar to what operates very successfully in Sydney.
"A route with limited stops coming from Albion Park would allow students to access a service that would bring them to their destination, reducing the need to drive or find parking."
Mr Park said a Metrobus would reduce the amount of cars in the area, while limited stops would mean the travel time would be comparable to driving for students.
"In Sydney, these services have seen massive increases in patronage, in some cases as much as 80 per cent, particularly when they are around major centres and employment hubs, such as a university," he said.
Member for Shellharbour Anna Watson endorsed Mr Park's proposal.
"There are many students from the University of Wollongong living in my electorate who mostly rely on a car to get from the southern suburbs into Keiraville," she said.
"If we can get these students out of cars and on to a Metrobus service that runs regularly, they would not only save an enormous amount on car costs but we can also help relieve the congestion pressures around these streets for local residents."
