Dog walker wanted over stabbing

Police are trying to locate a dog walker accused of stabbing a man on Church Street in Wollongong Friday night. 

Police say the man was walking his dog on a lead shortly after 6pm when he approached a 44-year-old man and stabbed him in the chest.

The 44-year-old was talking to a taxi driver in the moments before the alleged attack. 

He reported the incident to police about two hours later and was transported to Wollongong Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. 

Police say the attacker fled the scene. He is described as 180cm tall with long, grey hair. He wore light blue jeans and a blue and white chequered shirt.
