A man has been arrested following a four-hour police operation at Bellambi on Monday.
Police were called to the home in Cawley Street around 9.15am after a 20-year-old man entered the house and allegedly threatened his mother with a firearm.
The 45-year-old woman left the house and contacted police.
The street was sealed off and negotiators were brought to the home, however, when police entered the building around 1pm, there was no sign of the man.
Police arrested the man around 9am yesterday at the same house in Cawley Street. He was charged with break and enter with intent while armed, armed with intent and steal from dwelling. He was refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court yesterday, where he was remanded into custody.
He will reappear in court on May 15.
