Ross was thrown a lifeline by Joel Madden after failing to win the public vote with his uber cool rendition of All Along the Watchtower on Monday night.
Madden picked him ahead of fellow contestant Lyric McFarland in tonight's sing-off.
"You've got this mysterious thing about you and we want to know more," Joel told Ross. "If I could I would take you back to America and record with you."
Ross belted out the Jimi Hendrix classic on Monday’s showdown episode, earning unanimous praise from the judges.
Seal was impressed by the 30-year’s stage presence, telling him he wanted to see more.
‘‘You just exude something that you try to teach everyone else,’’ he said.
‘‘I love the song, I love what you’re about and I want to see more of it.’’
Delta raved about Ross’ eclectic style and personality.
‘‘You just are so cool and exude this really fascinating quality that’s really something of another era,’’ she said.
‘‘I want to go to your concert.’’
For mentor Joel Madden, the best sign Ross had rocked was from twin brother Benji, whose thumbs-up at the end of the song was a wordless seal of approval for the Kangaroo Valley man.
On Monday, the four Team Joel contestants sang for one of just two places, with one chosen by public vote and another by the judges last night.
