A piece of Kiama's history will go under the hammer next month.
The landmark Bellevue building in Minnamurra Street, built in the late 1800s, is listed with Ray White Kiama.
Built from locally mined bluestone, agent Sharon Ford said Bellevue currently operates as tourist accommodation but could also be owner-occupied as a luxury family home, rented out or converted into professional suites.
The building, situated on a 900-square-metre block, was completely renovated in 2000 and comprises six individual contemporary apartments.
The building was transformed into guesthouse-type accommodation in the 1930s or early 1940s and remained that way until April 2000, when the property was purchased by current owners Michael and Bronia Waldon.
It maintains the original staircase and fireplaces.
"All the units are one bedroom with lounge and dining areas, and two apartments have spas," Ms Ford said.
"All open out on to the wrap-around verandah. Each unit has a car space. There's also an office, laundry room and supply room."
"It is being sold as walk in, walk out."
The property last traded for $500,000 in 2000.
"The possibilities here are endless," Ms Ford said.
The auction will take place on Monday, September 2 at 6.30pm at The Sebel Harbourside, Kiama.
Close to the coast
One Agency Denison-Pender and Moore this week launched some Metricon house and land packages for the six-lot Seamist subdivision in Austinmer.
Seamist, which is on the former Austinmer Bowling Club site, is a two-minute walk to the beach and a one-minute walk to Austinmer school.
"Now that McCauley's Beach Estate has sold out, there is very little vacant land available in the northern suburbs this close to the beach," said agent Vanessa Denison-Pender.
Ms Denison-Pender said one of the packages for lot 4 had already sold, while lot 2 is under contract.
The proposed two-storey Metricon home for the 460-square-metre lot 5 is called the Elysian 29 and is for sale for $1,036,255.
Walsh House to buy
Architect Glenn Murcutt's Kangaroo Valley masterpiece, the Walsh House, is listed for sale for $1.975 million.
Commissioned by Rosemary and Robert Walsh, the managing partner in Australia of global immigration law firm Fragomen, the two-bedroom getaway was completed in 2005.
Agent John Renouf of Drew Lindsay Real Estate said the pavilion-style property on Wattamolla Road has an expansive outlook across the surrounding Kangaroo Valley countryside through glass walls.
"It is sited to the north to maximise the sun and the views," Mr Renouf said.
The Walshes bought the two-hectare block in 1999 for $230,000 from Bernard Nixon.
