Police have arrested three people who were caught taking illegal drugs into the South Coast Correctional Centre at Nowra on Saturday.
A Cabramatta woman, 24, was at the centre visiting an inmate about 10.30am when a drug detection dog found the presence of drugs on her.
She was found to be allegedly carrying prescription drugs and methamphetamine with a combined weight of 6.5 grams. Police charged her with possess prohibited drug and two counts of bringing drugs into a detention centre. She will appear at Nowra Local Court on September 23.
About 10.45am, on the same morning, an Ambervale woman, 29, entered the centre and the drug dog indicated the presence of drugs. The woman was found to allegedly have 1.3 grams of methamphetamine.
Police charged her with possess prohibited drug and one count of bring drug into a detention centre. She will also appear at Nowra Local Court on September 23.
A 33-year-old Warilla man entered the centre around 11.45am and was found to have in his possession a number of yellow tablets. He will appear at Nowra Local Court at a later date.
