A 25-year-old man has been charged over the alleged robbery of a pizza delivery driver and a fast food restaurant in the Illawarra earlier this year.
Around 9.40pm on Sunday, May 26, a 19-year-old man delivered a pizza to a home in Hopetoun Street, Woonona.
When he arrived at the house, he was confronted and assaulted by three men, who then fled with his money and pizza.
In the second incident two months later, on July 22, a man entered a fast food restaurant on the Princes Highway in Woonona around 1.30am. The man’s face was concealed.
He allegedly confronted and threatened a 23-year-old female employee, telling her he was armed with a weapon.
The man allegedly ordered the employees into the back office before stealing cash from the safe.
Detectives from Wollongong Local Area Command investigated the incidents, which they will allege were linked.
A 25-year-old man was yesterday arrested around 10.45am at Wollongong. He was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery and robbery.
The man was refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
