A 34-year-old Coogee woman is the latest to be arrested for allegedly attempting to take a prohibited drug into the South Coast Correctional Centre at Nowra.
The woman entered the jail to visit an inmate on Saturday morning when a drug dog allegedly detected prohibited drugs.
Police said the woman was carrying a small plastic package containing 1.3 grams of Buprenorphine tablets.
She was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where she was charged for the offences of possessing a prohibited drug, bringing drugs into a detention centre and breach of bail.
The woman was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on September25.
Last weekend police arrested three people who were caught allegedly taking illegal drugs into the correctional centre.
