Memorabilia and stories of Shellharbour residents who served in World War I are needed for a digital collection to commemorate the centenary of the war.
Staff at Shellharbour City libraries will hold a ‘‘scan and share’’ day to learn about local people who served in World War I and will document material for the Illawarra Remembers collection.
Any letters, artefacts, photographs and diaries can be scanned and returned on the day, while stories will be recorded and transcribed for submission.
Bill O’Neill from the Warilla RSL sub-branch will speak at the event and honour the brave men and women who fought in the war.
The scan and share day will be held at Warilla Library between 10am and 1pm on Tuesday, September 10.
