University remain a powerhouse presence in Illawarra junior hockey with three teams minor premiers in 2013.
Uni have won 24 out of a possible 49 junior premierships since 2001, with their under 15 Blue, under 13s and under 11s minor premiers this year.
The under 15s, under coaches Alex Mackay, James Fisher, David Smith and Cameron Dean and led by NSW representatives Callum Mackay, Patrick Everett and Thomas Condon, plus Will Orth, finished five points clear at the end of the regular season.
Uni, who won their major semi-final last Saturday, have lost just one game, scored a massive 102 goals and conceded only nine.
The under 13s, coached by Alex Montgomery and Nick Jennings, defeated arch-rivals Wests late in the season to secure the minor premiership by two points.
Wests showed their quality and turned the tables in the major semi, with Uni to play in the final this Saturday.
Every Uni player has made a contribution this season, with NSW rep Higgi Blaik, plus Sam Airey, Toby Jennings, Angus Waters and Sage McAteer leading the way.
Uni have scored 93 goals and conceded only 11 in the regular season.
The Uni under 11s are into the grand final having gone through 2013 unbeaten, edging out Gerringong for top spot.
Uni scored 65 goals in only 12 games and gave up only four goals.
Goalkeeper Mitch Wells and defenders Zali Markwell, Alex Sommerville, Amelia McCann, Amy Simpson, Sophie Fish and Caitlin Orth have been in great form every week.
Strikers Darcy Campbell, Lilly Hunt, Lucinda Preeo and Clayton Stewart, along with midfielders Neive Campbell, Rory Hanrahan, Libby Hall and Ben Byron, did their job perfectly.
The Uni minkie age also have had a great season and all junior teams acknowledge the support of the senior teams in providing a pathway for excellence for the years to come.
