Police have seized a firearm and an amount of ammunition following an alleged domestic incident at Albion Park.
About 4.40pm yesterday, officers were called to an address on Dudgeon Road.
Police spoke with a number of people at the location and arrested a 50-year-old man a short time later.
Following inquiries, officers attended a second residence on Old Lake Entrance Road at Oak Flats.
While conducting a search of the property, police allegedly located and seized a Winchester .22 calibre rifle, believed to be stolen.
During a subsequent search of the Albion Park home, officers also allegedly seized an amount of ammunition and a number of bullet casings.
The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with a number of firearm related offences including possess unregistered firearm, possess ammunition without holding a licence, not keep firearm safely and goods in custody.
No shots were fired during the alleged domestic incident and no-one was injured.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 9 October, 2013.
