By early afternoon today the sun was taking it’s toll on those manning the polling booths.
In Cringila the Nationals' Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson’s daughter Roxy Anderson had started handing out how to vote cards for her father, resorting to a black umbrella for protection.
She said her former rock star dad would move to the area if he won the seat of Throsby.
Roxy, who works in the bridal events industry in Sydney, said she was not surprised her dad had opted to throw his hat in the ring.
‘‘He’s always had a secret desire to go into politics,’’ she said. ‘‘I completely support my dad. He’s always been very neutral in terms of us kids growing up and teaching us about right and wrong. I fully support him and his policies 100 per cent. I haven’t seen him all day because he’s been on the move visiting as many booths as possible. He’s very much a people person and I think that will work in his favour, regardless of people’s politics.’’
