The Wollongong Hawks have finalised their import combination for the 2013-14 NBL season.
Detroit-born Durrell Summers joins countryman Rotnei Clarke at the Hawks and is a projected starter at the small forward position.
Standing 196cm, the Michigan State University graduate has played in Venezuela and France.
He spent two seasons in the NBA Development League with the Maine Red Claws and played in two preseason games with the Charlotte Bobcats.
‘‘We are looking forward to Durrell joining us, getting to know his teammates and our system,’’ Wollongong coach Gordie McLeod said.
Barring any hitches with immigration clearance, Summers is expected to debut with the Hawks at next weekend’s NBL preseason Blitz tournament in Sydney.
Wollongong are up against Perth and Melbourne before wrapping up their preseason schedule the following weekend with two trials against the Kings.
The Hawks have nine players signed for next season and still need to add another player to complete the 10-man roster.
Season tickets are available through the club on 42 297722.
