Spring is already in full bloom and the wonder of Mother Nature’s colours emerge in all its glory as a timely reminder that change is central to the survival of all things organic ... and so it is for us.
As our crowning glory, hair debatably plays the most important role in how we look and feel.
It is the frame to our face and, after all, sits right at the very top of us all. So is it any wonder we feel so great when our hair gets a new ‘do’ – hairdo that is?
It provides us with a level of confidence and a sense of well being in an instant.
It is also true that nothing drags us down more than tired, neglected hair.
It is also the one thing that grows on us that can be quickly and dramatically changed. So that means our hair can be, within reason, our playground.
The worst thing that can happen if you don’t like your new look is you can re-colour it or give it a few weeks to grow out.
So let your hair lead the way this spring with a call to one of the Highlights for Hope salons in the Illawarra.
Enjoy a discount on a new look and have some fun with a highlight or two, and, above all, show your support to Highlights for Hope in their mission to raise funds for the Light and Hope Mental Health Clubhouse in the Illawarra.
Today, I am featuring well-known Wollongong identity and CEO of the IRT, Nieves Murray, who was named IBT Business Person of the Year in 2012.
As a leading businesswoman in the Illawarra, and one of the region’s biggest employers, Nieves negotiates a daily schedule that would leave most of us dizzy.
Petite and always smartly dressed, Nieves’ hair needs to be well cut, easily managed and present a chic, conservative image.
However, despite her usual style, Nieves was up for the challenge with a new colour to support Highlights for Hope as we approach Mental Health Month in October.
As a client of Roza Rojano from Total Bliss Hair and Body Spa, Nieves was quick to indulge in a new look with a face-framing border cocktail, blending three different tones to create the finished look.
Roza’s salon prides itself on minimising the use of chemicals and promoting the importance of health and well-being.
Using CHI, an ammonia-free and PPD-free colour brand, Roza chose to blend fuschia, pale pink and red to achieve this soft, smoky face-framing burgundy tone.
Nieves made a point of saying how she enjoys the constructive advice and professionalism that is always extended to her by Roza and her staff members.
A quick and easy alternative process for this look can be achieved simply with colour chalks, which last a few shampoos and is ideal for a special occasion.
A full range of these colours – both natural and crazy – are available at Total Bliss Hair and Body Spa, located at 114 Kembla Street, Wollongong.
