Award-winning band Atticus will be one of the headline acts to perform at the second annual Amp It Up concert to be held at Centenary Hall, Albion Park on Friday.
Atticus, which comprises three brothers - Sam, Adrian and Tyler James - and their cousin, Harry James, took out the Illawarra Mercury BlueScope Youth Band Competition in 2010. While studying musicianship and composition with Wollongong's Conservatorium of Music and Studio 301 producer John Spence, the band has gone on to support touring bands Grafton Primary, Trial Kennedy, New Navy and Deep Sea Arcade.
"We are excited about how we are developing as a band and are working on writing, studying, rehearsing and gigging to get our album right," Sam James said.
The pop rock band will take to the stage at Centenary Hall, Albion Park on Friday with local metalcore band, At the Gallows.
Young local bands set to rock the crowd include Catalyst, My Own Mayhem, Harbour, Fragile, Shallows and Silver Shades.
An acoustic line-up of Jayme Western, Mitch Dimech and Brendan Palaqua will also entertain on a second stage.
The concert will begin at 4pm and end at 10pm, with tickets sold at the door for $5 each. More information is available online at Shellharbour City Council's website and the Amp It Up Facebook page.
