Three people have been taken to hospital following a serious crash on the Princes Highway at Kembla Grange last night.
The accident occurred shortly before 7pm, and involved a south bound white Mercedes Vito van and a Honda Accord that was heading north.
The van was being driven by a 41-year-old man and the Honda Accord was being driven by a 28-year-old man and carrying a 26-year-old female passenger in the front, and a 24-year-old male passenger in the rear.
In circumstances still under investigation, the two vehicles have collided head-on.
The front female passenger in the Honda sustained critical head and abdominal injuries and was flown to Liverpool Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver and the rear passenger where both taken to Wollongong Hospital both suffering significant injuries and remain serious but stable.
The 41-year-old driver of the Mercedes was arrested at the scene and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory tests.
Officers from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the crash.
