A man has been charged with alleged assault after allegedly stabbing another man in the stomach.
At about 3.20pm yesterday afternoon two men became involved in an argument at a unit on Crana Place at Mangerton.
It's alleged a 34-year-old man stabbed a 41-year-old man in the stomach before fleeing the scene.
The younger man attended Wollongong Police Station at about 5.20pm and was arrested.
He was charged with wound with intent and refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today.
The injured man was taken to Wollongong Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He is in a serious but stable condition.
