While the fate of the Port Kembla stack is still in limbo, a photo exhibition celebrating the iconic tower is about to open in Wollongong.
Stack 360 will open their Stack By Night exhibition and competition officially tomorrow, hosting photographs taken during August’s light displays on the stack.
‘‘The idea for an exhibition came straight from the photographers themselves, who gathered around the stack when we lit her up,’’ said organiser Walter Pritchard.
‘‘When we did that it inspired people, and within 24 hours we had photographers begging us to put the lights back up again so they could take pictures from Hill 60.’’
The exhibition runs until October 12 at Art Arena Gallery, 31 Market Street in Wollongong.
Mr Pritchard said up to 60 entries had already been received for the competition, to be judged by acclaimed artist Yuri Hofsteters and Wollongong City Gallery director John Monteleone, but entries were still open. Email pictures to email@example.com.
