Summer twilight market will return to Flagstaff Hill this evening, with food vendors offering up plenty of tasty dishes to kick off the long weekend.
The Wollongong City Council-run market will be held on the first Friday of each month, weather permitting, from now until March.
Last year, they attracted about 500 people every month.
Today's event will feature 15 food stalls and entertainment from popular musician Penny Hartgerink, who will perform a range of reggae and rock songs as well as folk ballads.
The food on offer will include Turkish gozleme, crispy potato swirls and Balinese dishes.
A different charity group will attend the market from now until March each week and today Alzheimer's Australia will host a stall to promote the Illawarra Memory Walk and Jog, which is on October 13.
The market is on from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, with entertainment between 6pm and 8pm.
