Seacliff Function Centre marketing manager Jonni Nicolaou is a business woman not afraid to try new things.
Fresh from her success securing Fiona O’Loughlin for two comedy dinner shows at Seacliff Function Centre, her latest idea is Wollongong’s first psychic dinner, on October 24.
And she is doing it with the help of former Wollongong resident Lana Jackson, who started her business called Lioness Pride when she lived in the city for five years and has since been a regular television psychic.
Ms Jackson has also enlisted the support of fellow television psychic Christine Rose and both say the idea of a psychic dinner is totally new.
They have become good friends over the years and each has appeared before large audiences at live shows but have never done readings at a dinner event.
‘‘I am always looking for unique, different events to hold here at Seacliff,’’ Mrs Nicolaou said.
‘‘I was friends with Lana on Facebook and I had seen what she had been doing on television, so she was my first point of contact and we just developed it from there.
‘‘We are going to theme the restaurant to create a spiritual atmosphere. The structure of the evening will be during dinner Lana and Christine will build rapport with the audience by telling their story.
‘‘I am really excited about us having the opportunity to learn about these two women and their journey. After mains they will do readings. The audience can put their hand up to ask life questions. It is a chance to enjoy a night with two renowned psychic mediums.’’
Ms Jackson said it would be a two-hour show that would involve them working with the audience over dinner.
The whole event, with breaks for entree, dinner and dessert, is expected to last four hours.
‘‘It is actually really good to get this chance to come back,’’ she said.
‘‘I really miss being down here. I know I will see plenty of faces I knew before.
‘‘When I was down here before I was more involved with organisations such as the Illawarra Business Chamber as a business person.
‘‘Now I am coming back more as an entertainer and performer.’’
