The endless trips down the giant slide and constant bouncing on the jumping castle at tonight’s Corrimal Public School Twilight Fete will all be for a good cause.
P & C vice president Lenora Carney said the funds raised from the fete would go towards the school’s major fund-raising goal for the year - purchasing laptops for the students.
‘‘Our goal is to supply 20 or more to distribute to all the classrooms so each level will have some. At the moment we have five but are hoping to raise more money from the fete to buy more.’’
This is the second time the school has held a fete, but this one is much bigger than the previous incarnation. Mrs Carney said the success of the first and interest from local businesses had encouraged them to open up the fair to the community this year.
As well as rides, there will be face painting, a mini bowling alley, a crazy hair stall, market stalls, silent auctions, a chocolate wheel, a huge variety of festive food and a dunking machine, where students have the chance to drop their teachers in a pool of water.
The fete is on tonight from 4pm to 8pm at Corrimal Public School. Entry is via Wilga Street.
