Five people have been hospitalised after a verandah collapsed at North Nowra yesterday.
About 9.40pm on Saturday, about 20-25 people were standing on a verandah on the second storey of a home in Jamieson Road, North Nowra, when it collapsed.
A 63-year-old wheelchair-bound woman suffered facial fractures, a two-year-old boy suffered head injuries, a 31-year-old woman has arm fractures, while two women, aged 41 and 25, have possible spinal injuries.
They were all taken to Shoalhaven Hospital, however the 63-year-old was flown to St George Hospital for further treatment.
Police said although serious, none of their injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
A number of other people on the balcony sustained cuts and abrasions.
An investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway.
