A man has been charged with a slew of fraud offences, along with possessing a firearm and explosives after they were discovered in a Figtree home yesterday.
Earlier this year, police received reports of multiple frauds around the region.
Investigators from Wollongong Local Area Command started to investigate.
About 2.45pm yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at an address in O’Donnell Drive, Figtree, and allegedly located several items including a firearm, explosives and ammunition.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.
He was charged with six counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, along with one count each of possessing an unauthorised firearm, not keeping a firearm safely, possessing ammunition without a licence/permit, handling prohibited explosives and failing to keep explosives in a secure magazine.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on November 11.
