The Illawarra Business Chamber held its final judges’ meeting on Monday for this Friday’s Momentum Energy Illawarra Business Awards.
The winners have now been chosen and a secret ballot for the Illawarra Business of the Year conducted but no-one will know the result until the envelope is opened on Friday night in front of 700 people at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
Chairman of the judging panel University of Wollongong Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Wellings and auditor of the judging process Warwick Shanks, of KPMG Wollongong, both said retaining such a high standard of judging would not be possible without so many business, civic and organisational leaders giving their time as judges this year.
More than 35 people were involved in the judging process and Prof Wellings said he was very impressed with the high standard of the process overseen by Mr Shanks.
‘‘If you look at examples of best practice you can see here a really fantastic process running,’’ he said.
