Woonona residents are giving poverty the boot this weekend with a charity boot camp run by personal trainer Tiv Nightingale.
Mr Nightingale has invited the community to help him raise funds for local charity Need A Feed, so it can supply food to hundreds of people in the city who might otherwise do without.
He organised Saturday's charity boot camp at Ocean Park after being inspired by some of his clients.
‘‘We need to come together as a community to look after each other,’’ Mr Nightingale said.
‘‘Shaz Harrison-Shaw has led the way by forming this charity and we now need to step up and support it. Our charity boot camp is an exciting way to raise funds as well as focus on your health and well-being.’’
Step into Life Woonona has teamed up with local businesses, who have put together a goodies bag for participants – each is asked to donate $20 for competing.
The boot camp starts at 8.45am and finishes around 11am. Details here.
