The Hawks celebrated their 1000th National Basketball League match on Saturday night with a 85-81 victory over the Townsville Crocodiles at the Wollongong Entertainment Centre. Before the match got under way club legend Melvin Thomas had his No 33 singlet retired. There was a boisterous crowd to mark the occasion.
