Regional franchisee Anthony Hamod and his team were recognised as best franchisee with two or more staff.
Mr Hamod accepted the award at the recent NAB Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) National Excellence in Franchising Awards 2013.
He said the achievement was a testament to the consistent hard work of every member of the Fastway Couriers Wollongong team.
"To me, this award is something I can share with my entire franchise," he said.
"This is the highest accolade within the franchise industry and to be selected as the best franchise business in Australia for the year 2013 is a massive achievement for all of us.
"I'd like to thank our Courier franchisees, our staff and the Fastway Couriers franchise support office for their continued support."
Mr Hamod has twice been recognised as Fastway Couriers' own best regional franchisee in 2006 and 2010.
His business also won the FCA's NSW/ACT Franchisee of the Year title in June.
Fastway Couriers chief executive Richard Thame said it had been a massive year for Fastway Wollongong and the business continued to grow.
"I can think of no-one more deserving of recognition than Anthony," Mr Thame said.
Mr Hamod was the company's youngest ever national franchise business manager and its youngest ever regional franchisee.
He took over the Wollongong franchise with his wife, Andrea, in 2004.
Since then they have transformed the depot into one of Australia's best.
"When the Wollongong franchise came up for sale, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me," Mr Hamod said.
"Since then I've never looked back."
