An elderly man has died while driving his car on the Hume Highway near Sutton Forest.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said emergency service crews arrived on scene just prior to 7pm this evening.
She said the car had sustained only minor damage after colliding with a guardrail, and the man’s female passenger was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The crash caused the closure of both lines of the highway, with one lane opening shortly after the incident.
Both lanes were reopened about 8pm.
Police are investigating the cause of the man’s death.
