OUR PICK: Choir-tly Loud!, Saturday and Sunday
Twenty community choirs from far and wide will surprise and delight with impromptu performances in cafes and pubs, along the North Beach waterfront, and in Wollongong’s city mall. Wherever there is a crowd – including the finish of the Sydney to ’Gong Bike Ride on Sunday morning – they will be there with their songs. The gala concert on Saturday night at Wollongong Town Hall features Aria Award winning The Idea of North and the very quirky Spooky Men’s Chorale.

The Lloyd Rees Festival, Saturday and Sunday
Celebrates the revered Australian landscape artist Lloyd Rees and his connection with the Gerringong landscape. The festival includes exhibitions, painting site tours and talks about Rees’s artwork. There will be painting activities for all ages and a gala concert at Gerringong. Details here.
