Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery ventured online at Wollongong Library yesterday to have his say about the health needs of the region, and to encourage others to do the same.
He was taking part in the Survey for Health Consumers of the Illawarra-Shoalhaven, which gives residents an opportunity to share their thoughts about the quality of healthcare available in the region.
“I’d encourage everyone to give it a go,” Cr Bradbery said.
‘‘A lot of those things are connected with health so it is important for people to give us their feedback.
‘‘It really helps us understand some of the dynamics of the community.’’
The survey is an initiative of Illawarra-Shoalhaven Medicare Local (ISML) and is a follow-up to its report Illawarra-Shoalhaven Population Health Profile: 2013, a detailed study of the region’s health needs now and in the future.
The results of the survey will be used to improve health services in the region.
‘‘Medicare Locals are all about meeting local needs,” ISML population health and planning manager Abhijeet Ghosh said.
“What you have to say about your health is important.”
The survey is available online at surveymonkey.com/s/myhealthsay and takes about 15 minutes to complete.
