Police have discovered the body of a woman who went missing from a travelling group of motorcyclists on the far South Coast on Saturday.
The group set out from Wyndham township at 2.30pm and rode about 50km inland to Bombala, where they noticed the woman, aged 37, was missing.
Police searched along Mount Darragh Road until nightfall. They found the woman just before 8 o’clock this morning.
She had fallen on Mount Darragh Road, only about 3kms west of where the group had set out, and suffered fatal injuries.
Her motorcycle was found down a nearby embankment.
Initial inquiries suggest the woman lost control on a sharp left hand bend known as Curley’s Corner.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
