Wollongong's Globe Lane burst into life on Saturday afternoon at the inaugural Globe Laneway Festival.
The elbowed alleyway was lined with arty stalls, beanbags and cafe stools when acoustic musician Joe Mungovan kicked off the entertainment in his laid-back style, around 2pm.
The event took a retro turn at 4pm when dancers hit the laneway, the area morphing into a dance pit as the evening progressed thanks to The El Caminos.
Organiser Tim Dennis said the festival had a really good first year and a great vibe.
‘‘There were a lot of people circulating throughout the day and it cranked up in the evening for a happy time,’’ Mr Dennis said.
‘‘There were plenty of happy people – we got a lot of good feedback from the stallholders and businesses.’’
He expects the festival will return.
But as for a date – watch this space.
‘‘It maybe 12 months, but it might be earlier,’’ he said.
