Close to 130 motorcyclists and car enthusiasts were doing more than just enjoying the coastal view as they zipped down the highway on Sunday.
The group rode, and drove, from Towradgi to Sussex Inlet and back again yesterday as part of the Easy Rider South Coast Cruise to raise money for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA), stopping for lunch down the coast.
This is the third year Tarrawanna man David Brown has organised the event.
‘‘The ride went exceptionally well, there was about 90 bikes, six pretty goodlooking cars and about 130 people registered and donated,’’ he said.
Strong winds made the journey a bit more of a challenge than usual, but Mr Brown said the participants still had a good ride.
‘‘Everybody I spoke to had fun.’’ Participants were asked to donate $20 to SCIA in lieu of a registration fee. Illawarra groups and organisations also donated to the charity.
