Aleisha, winner of Miss Sydney Australia and a finalist in the 2013 Miss World contest, will visit the Lagoon and Novotel Northbeach today to sell raffle tickets to raise funds for the Light and Hope Clubhouse.
The raffle will be drawn tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Novotel at 11am. So today will be your last chance to contribute to this wonderful salon campaign - raising much-needed funds for Wollongong's Light and Hope Clubhouse.
On behalf of the Light and Hope Committee, I would like to thank each and every Wollongong identity who has been featured in my column over the past seven weeks, who have given up their time and shown admirable sportsmanship in supporting this campaign.
Our appreciation also goes out to the 20 fabulous salons who have helped to lift the cloud that hovers heavily over mental heath issues. These salons have so diligently committed seven weeks to the fund-raising cause. The Light and Hope committee salutes you all.
I would also like to thank our generous sponsors, especially Nick Avram from South Coast Hair and Beauty Supplies, now established for over 15 years servicing the Illawarra and one of the largest hair and beauty wholesalers in NSW. With a team of professional staff that excels in providing the best service and advice, South Coast Hair and Beauty Supplies has always supported the industry professional and as our first supporter, Nick generously supplied the 20 salons with 5000 metres of foil and 40 kilograms of bleach for all the highlights that have "lit up" this campaign.
As a major sponsor, Nick also provided a $500 basket of quality hair and beauty products to be drawn as part of the first prize - which complements $1000 worth of hair services over 12 months, donated by the 20 Highlight for Hope salons.
In the spotlight today is our last but certainly not least salon, The Palace Hair & Body which recently opened at Shop 1, 27-29 Princes Highway at Fairy Meadow.
Salon proprietor Aimee has added just another touch of class to the already exclusive hub of specialty shops and boutiques in the heart of Fairy Meadow. The palatial décor provides a spacious, light and glamorous appeal with a private basin lounge. Aimee and her team assisted in the styling of our fascinator hairstyles.
"I was thrilled to be included in this campaign and feel that hairdressers are a perfect part of society to be partners in this cause. We have a natural empathy with our clients and together we can make a real difference. I look forward to being involved again next year," she said.
The palace also offers a full range of beauty services with Olivia Nikolova, including a beautifully appointed nail and make-up bar. Olivia applied the make-up for our models today.
These stunning outfits are from Hilary's Boutique, shop 35B Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow, one of the Illawarra's best for quality and unique fashions. Equally renowned for its wonderful range of shoes and accessories is KC's Show Boutique, and proprietor, Lynnette will next year be celebrating the shop's 30th birthday.
Both these specialty outlets cater to all ages for every occasion, from the comfortable and casual to the most formal.
Aleisha will be dressed by Hilary's and KC's today when she visits both the Novotel and The Lagoon - her mission to raise funds for Highlight for Hope and your last chance to help save the Light and Hope Clubhouse in the Illawarra.
