Police are investigating whether a driver who was critically injured in a collision on Mount Ousley Road yesterday was standing outside his vehicle at the time of the crash.

Police say the crash happened about 3.10 yesterday afternoon when a Mercedes Benz travelling west in lane one collided with the front passenger side of a Toyota Hiace van.
Police have been told the van was stationary in lane one at the time of the collision.
The van driver, 35, was seriously injured in the incident, sustaining leg and internal injuries.
He was taken to Wollongong Hospital and later flown to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
Police from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including why the van was stationary, and whether the van driver was inside or outside the vehicle at the time of the collision.
